A fresh week! A clean slate!
And a simple but powerful reminder:
Before you build anything new… before you invest time, energy, or money in any kind of commercial venture or project…
Get PROOF That People Actually Want It!
I know that might seem obvious, but it’s one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned over more than 30 years in business.
The truth is you can’t second guess the market, make assumptions or just go with your gut instinct.
Instead, you need real-world validation.
You need to see genuine interest, measurable demand… and yes, proof that people are willing to spend money on what you have to offer.
And here’s the interesting part…
I’m in a very fortunate position because I have more than 15,000 people reading this What Really Makes Money email.
Over the years, the replies, emails, and conversations I’ve had with WRMM readers have genuinely humbled and inspired me.
Take it from me, you are NOT a typical audience.
You ask the right questions.
You push back when something doesn’t add up, and you share your own hard-won experiences generously.
You are the kind of people who don’t just read about making money – you actually go away and do something about it.
You’re motivated in the truest sense: genuinely driven by a desire to build something real and lasting.
And you’re honest. Refreshingly, sometimes bracingly so!
All this means that instead of guessing… I can simply ask you and I know I’ll get an honest response.
So let me explain what I’m thinking…
For more than 20 years, I published What Really Makes Money as a paid, printed monthly newsletter. Maybe you were one of the many thousands of subscribers who received the publication?
If so, then you know that every issue went deep – proper, detailed blueprints and step-by-step strategies. The kind of material you could sit down with… and come away with something you could actually use.
No fluff, no filler. Just the kind of thorough, roll-up-your-sleeves content that you could actually follow and implement.
I loved writing it. And from the letters and calls I received over the years, many of you loved reading it and most importantly taking action and getting results.
A few years ago I moved to this free email format – three times a week – because I wanted to reach more people and stay in more regular contact with you.
That decision has been wonderful in so many ways.
But if I’m honest? I’ve missed the depth.
Now I’ve been watching the rise of platforms like Substack with a lot of interest. And I think there may be a way to bring back what made WRMM special in the first place – while keeping the free emails going too.
Here’s what I’m considering:
A premium WRMM publication – probably hosted on Substack – at just £6 a month.
Every fortnight, you’d get an in-depth blueprint on a specific money-making opportunity (the kind I used to do in the old newsletter).
On the alternate weeks, a deep-dive into practical marketing strategies – the real-world tactics that make any business work harder.
Rich. Detailed. Actionable. The way it used to be.
But – and here’s where I take my own Monday morning advice – before I invest significant time and effort creating this, I’d love to get your opinion.
So let me ask you directly:
Is this something you would genuinely value? And would you be willing to pay a small monthly fee for it (around £6)?
Just hit reply and let me know – even a quick “yes”, “no”, or “maybe” helps.
And one more thing (this is just as important):
What kinds of money-making opportunities would you most like me to cover?
For example:
- Online income ideas
- Local/offline opportunities
- AI-based income
- Low-cost / start-from-scratch ideas

The more specific you are, the better.
