The LMAITFY Secret

by | Sep 19, 2025 | Blog | 0 comments

Cast your mind back to the early 2000s…

It seems like an entirely different era, doesn’t it?!

The internet was still young…

You had some savvy people using it constantly…. some tentatively trying it for the first time… and a big chunk of people who had no clue what it was all about.

At the time, I recall a sarcastic phrase that people liked to use whenever you asked them for some information.

They’d say:

“Let me Google that for you.”

What they meant was that you could easily have looked that information up for yourself via a search engine.

The subtext was: “Stop being lazy and do it yourself.”

That was over twenty years ago…

So you’d think that Google would have KILLED the information publishing business by now, wouldn’t you?

After all, as more and more people realised they could simply Google stuff, why would they subscribe to email services, read blog posts or follow courses?

But that didn’t happen.

Email newsletters are stronger than ever – with 20 million subscribers on the new platform Substack.

And 129 million people per year follow online courses.

Clearly, there was more to it than people simply wanting information.

Not only that, but the internet did not deliver information in the way that many people wanted.

  • Too much conflicting advice…
  • Too many websites and sources to trawl through…
  • Too much poor-quality information and ‘thin’ SEO-optimised content.
  • Not enough clarity or practical steps…
  • A lack of guidance from a real who knew what you wanted and whom you trusted.

As the economist Herbert Simon once said: “A wealth of information creates a poverty of attention.” That was in 1971, long before the internet took over!

So information publishing businesses like my own not only survived the advent of high powered Google algorithms…

They thrived!

Now the classic phrase has evolved into something new.

Instead of “Let me Google that for you”, it’s now:

“Let me AI that for you.”

Again, what people mean is – “why are you asking me when you could get ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini to do it for you?”

And here’s where things are a little different….

Because while Google made information instantly available, AI takes it a step further.

It doesn’t just find you the information…

It also packages it into a neatly summarised answer, action plan, research report, or readymade article.

Sometimes it’ll chuck in some graphs, charts and recommended resources for good measure.

But just as was the case in the early 2000s when Google came along, this is no reason for home-based entrepreneurs to avoid info publishing.

In fact it’s an opportunity…

What I’ve Learned About Answering Questions

Over the last two decades, I’ve answered tens of thousands of questions about business, marketing, copywriting and trading.

And I’ll be honest with you…

I don’t always know the answers straight away.

So what do I do?

I go online, dig around, check different sources, and gradually piece together something useful, then share it in my own style.

And do you know what I’ve realised about human nature after doing this for so long?

Most people are lazy.

That’s not an insult.

It’s just reality.

We live in a world where almost any piece of knowledge can be found for free, by anyone, with a couple of clicks, just by jumping onto a search engine.

Yet the vast majority of people don’t bother.

They don’t have the time…

Or patience…

Or the confidence to sift through the junk and spot what’s actually worth paying attention to.

And here lies the opportunity.

Because you could earn an income from finding information for people and presenting it in a way they can easily follow.

As I’ve said, this is pretty much the business model of the info-publishing industry.

People don’t buy an eBook, digital course or downloadable planner because the information is impossible to find elsewhere.

They buy it because the author has done the heavy lifting for them… filtering, organising and turning raw knowledge into something practical.

And because they LIKE and TRUST the person behind the information.

This is where the LMAITFY secret comes in.

LMAITFY Explained

As you’ve no doubt realised by now, LMAITFY is an acronym for ‘Let Me AI That For You’.

Sure, anyone can open ChatGPT or Claude and ask the AI a question.

But a lot of people don’t use AI or don’t know how to use it properly.

For example, they don’t know:

  • How to write prompts that get quality answers
  • How to refine or cross-check the information that AI gives them
  • How to turn raw AI text into something useful, trustworthy, and actionable

Which means there’s still money to be made by stepping in and doing this on behalf of people.

You don’t need to be an expert or highly qualified.

All you need to be is a genuine human who understands what your customer wants, and who is willing to package the information in a way they enjoy, and trust,

Here are just a few ways you could turn “LMAITFY’ into an online business:

  • eBooks – Pick a niche (like health tips for over-50s, or productivity hacks for freelancers), use AI to gather and organise answers, then package them into short eBooks people will happily pay for
  • MicroManuals – create PDF files that share a solution to a problem, or shortcut to a goal, in the form of report, quick start guide, FAQ, cheat sheet or checklist.
  • Planners – you could create digital downloads and printables that sell on eCommerce sites like Etsy, offering a tool kit of resources for people. For example, a wedding planner with pre-made checklists and timelines, or a low carb diet planner with recipe sheers and targets.
  • Digital Courses – find the most pressing problems and goals, then offer practical solutions in the form of modules in a digital course. Either focus on one problem in a short, simple course, or group a whole bunch together in a larger ‘signature course’.
  • Subscription and membership services – post monthly or weekly content into a website, or deliver it via email, where people pay and ongoing fee. People can ask questions and you “AI them” into useful, clear answers. You could also add a forum or Facebook Group to create a community where members can talk to each other online.
  • Email newsletters – find a subject with a dedicated niche audience and a wide enough array of questions and answers to support a weekly ongoing email newsletter (you could also use platforms like Substack). Encourage readers to submit questions each week. You can make money from promoting products on an affiliate basis, or by creating your own eBooks, manuals, course and subscriptions.
  • Fiverr-Style Services – Offer a digital freelance service where people pay you to research a question, summarise options, or create a shortcut guide. Offer it on Fiverr or Upwork.

All of these part time online enterprises can be run using AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity.ai – so you don’t need any knowledge or skills.

Your job is to ask the AI the right questions, run fact checks and cross reference the results…

Then package it in your own natural, human style, tailored precisely to your target audience.

AI Strategies to Get You Started

If you’re tempted to try this, here’s a simple strategy…

First, you need to pick a niche audience you understand or care about — for example:

  • New parents
  • Over-50s looking to get fitter
  • Freelancers trying to save time
  • Amateur gardeners
  • Small business owners who hate tech

By narrowing the niche you can focus on a specific group of people with specific needs.

Next, you need to find out what they’re struggling with.

  • Browse Facebook Groups, Reddit threads, or forums and look at the questions that get repeated over and over.
  • Search Amazon reviews for books or products in that niche – look for complaints.
  • Use Google’s “People Also Ask” box and autocomplete to see what people are typing in.
  • Ask people in your niche directly — find friends, colleagues, or family members who might be able to give you insights.
  • Ask people in your niche directly — find friends, colleagues, or family members who might be able to give you insights.

Now pick one problem, goal or common question.

Try to be specific.

For example, rather than “How do I get fit?” think along the lines of “What’s the fastest way for over-50s to build core strength without going to the gym?”

Then let AI do the legwork…

Feed the question into an AI tool like ChatGPT Plus.

Keep asking more questions or ask it to flesh out some of the answers with more detail, research or practical steps.

Then you need to cross-check the details and click on all the links it gives you (inevitably some AI generated results are dead links or closed businesses),Finally, edit the answer so that it’s much more personable and

unique. That means removing cliches and AI-speak, and feeding the AI examples of your writing and voice for a more human answer.

Once you’ve done that you need to put the answer (or answers) into your chosen format, for example.

  • A newsletter issue
  • A short PDF or cheat sheet
  • A video tutorial
  • A checklist or template

Before you release it, ask: “Would a busy person be able to read this in 5 minutes and immediately take action?”

If the answer’s yes, then you’re ready to publish!

I know it seems strange that you can repackage what’s already available…

But just as Google didn’t kill info publishing, neither will AI.

Not for a long while yet, anyway!

In the meantime, this could be a fantastic way for you to earn money without the old requirements of skill, training and experience.

If you have any questions about this, fire away!
