14 Ways to Make £500 – £1,000+ Per Month

by | Dec 5, 2025 | Blog | 0 comments

I get a LOT of emails every week…

People regularly ask for my insights into the best ways to make money from home (and what they should avoid!)

And I’m always glad to help!

After all, I’ve been writing about this subject since the 1990s!

And in recent years, I’ve noticed something interesting…

When I started out, most business opportunities were sold on the premise that the customer would:

“GET RICH!”

“FIRE YOUR BOSS!”

“BUY A MANSION!”

“RETIRE EARLY!”

It was assumed by a lot of publishers (even reputable ones) that this is what everyone wanted, deep down.

So there were big ££££££££££ signs everywhere….

Millionaires standing next to luxury sports cars…

And promises of 6-figure incomes generated from laptops on remote Thai beaches.

But these days, things have changed.

In the new ‘gig economy’, business opportunities have moved from being a niche idea at the fringes of the direct mail industry… to a mainstream concept (the ‘side hustle) – that appears in the media regularly.

The idea of making an independent income is no longer seen as ‘pie in the sky’ stuff for delusional dreamers.

It’s now viewed as a necessity in a time of low job security and rising living costs.

So increasingly, I get emails from readers who say they’re not particularly interested in making 6 or 7 figures from their own business. Neither do they want the commitment of running a full-time operation.

Instead, they’re looking for proven, achievable ways to generate a side income to top up their salary or pension.

Just an extra £500 – £1,000+ per month would make all the difference, they tell me.

This ambition is achievable for almost EVERYONE reading this. And there are plenty of ways to go about it that will suit your interests, skill level and personality.

BUT….

The only way it can be done is by taking action.

I know, I know…. it seems like such an obvious thing to say that you might wonder why I bother to repeat it.

Except… this is honestly STILL the biggest barrier that stops most people.

They download reports, sign up to emails, take courses, attend webinars, read books and download apps…

Yet they never take the necessary action.

Instead, they tell themselves:

  • “I don’t have enough time.”
  • “I don’t have the skills.”
  • “I wouldn’t know where to begin.”
  • “I’ll probably fail.”

However, if you’re willing to take the plunge, then I thought it might be useful to run you through a list of proven, workable income ideas that could make £500-£1000 per month.

Describe the app you want, the features you need, and the AI generates the design, the screens, the logic and the publishing steps. 14. Stock Images – £20-£100+ per month – AI image creators like Midjourney can come up with high-quality stock images that you can then license for money. You can then upload them to Wirestock, who will distribute them to sites like Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, and Getty Images. I’ve put together some indepth training HERE.

You might need to combine a few to reach the income level you want, but these are all strictly part time, and some are very quick to set up and run.

So you can combine a few of them…

For example, you might use smartphone apps and testing to generate £100.

Then generate £150 from selling items on Vinted.

Plus £150 from a series of digital planners uploaded to Etsy.

And then £100 from a print-on-demand t-shirt.

That would be your £500 target reached.

To crank up the earnings, you might rent out a space for parking to add another £100…

Then create some AI art-prints that bring in £200.

And add £100 from a smartphone app you create, or from colourising a few photos for paying customers.

This way, you can reach that £1,000-per-month level.

It’s what’s known as ‘income stacking’ where you add up easy, repeatable moneymakers until you get the result you want.

Remember, many of these ideas will build up their income level over time as you add more products or get better at doing it.

Which means you can begin to drop those you don’t enjoy and focus more on those that work.

As I said at the top of the email, this is just a list to get you started.

Should any of these grab you, then reply with “Yes Nick Tell Me More About This” and if I get enough interest I’ll put some more detailed blueprints together.

Just remember, none of these can possibly make you a single penny unless you take action!
